Not sure about manuals...If it's a bare block, set it on it's tail and drop it in. If on a stand w/o the crank reach in the block and ease it. The key is to not scrape the cam bearings when installing. If it is in the car there are really long handles made to screw into the front of the cam to give you leverage to hold it level while installing.
