Hi,

When I changed my water pump I noticed a few pits on my timing cover caused by water corrosion. So I am looking for a new one.

I saw a brand new one on Ebay for $118 and couldn't find any other online prices to compare it to. Has anyone else found where to buy them from?

I have read on this forum that they are a bugger to re-seal if you try and do it whilst leaving the sump on but I am willing to give it a go.

If its not leaking, i wouldn't bother. It may have 20 years left in it. Run corrosion inhibitor.

I would not worry about a few pit marks, unless they are fairly deep. Use a wire bush on the end of a drill to clean it up....Just losen the sump and you shouldn't have any issues fitting it back in. I think the eaby price is about right.

The ebay auction finished tonight, so I missed it. But I think it would be good to have a new one just in case one day I change the cam. If I can track it down on Ebay I will grab it.
