windsor 1/4mile times

After seeing the following thread, I think we should have a Clevo 1/4 mile thread. Should make the Windsor vs Cleveland arguement more interesting.

I didnt realise the E series and AU 5.0's were that slow, thats a bit of a joke really especially when they guzzle the juice. You couldnt compare them to any Gen 111 which is a real shame, as I'm not clued up on late model stuff (or interested really), are the 5.4's a big improvement?

Yes, the 5.4 IS a big improvement, but at this stage not enough of an improvement to beat a warmed over Clevo.

A std Clevo X.B Gt would be lucky to break 15 seconds....
But agree take to mild mods easy..Ohh the carb days...

Re: windsor 1/4mile times

Its all relevant to how much money you throw at either motor. 15 sec times are pretty reasonable for basically stock cars. I suppose its because there are so many warmed over cars around today that run 13 or less we come to expect V8's should be running at least a 14 sec pass

A stock XYGTHO was only capable of low 14's and they had a fairly angry motor.

I have to sit on the fence with this one since I have a warm Clevo in the XD and a std Windsor stroker in the T3. I have run the T3 at WSID for a 14.2 coasting the last 80 metres in neutral. Its going back there on 12/12 for the AMC club drag day which will be featured in AMC magazine afterwards.

Will get the XD down there soon for a street meet (AMC only allow std cars) and expect it to run into the 12's on street tyres.

Seat of the pants yells me the T3 would be in front the first 150-200 metres but after that the XD would say bye bye. This is due to suspension set up and tyre quality with both cars in std form except for 8's under the XD.

I can only speculate. The time slips will be available by end Dec
