1991 CV 351 carburetor swap?

I have a 1991 Crown Victoria police package with a 351 CID engine.
The OEM varible venturi carburetor is in bad shape and I would like
to swap it with a similar new Motorcraft or other brand of 2 bbl carb.

What brand and model would require the least amount of effort since
I'd like to keep the same intake? High performance is not desired for
this daily driven workhorse. Thanks.

The least amount of effort would be to replace it with a stock rebuild or have the one on it rebuilt. Most any auto parts store can find you a rebuilt carb for it. Just a matter of swapping one for the other.

The VV tends to be abit pricey. Any 2 bl carby will bolt on, just a matter if it is an AOD (TV cable)or AOD-E(TV cable & electrics).
