Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting an AU XR8 200kw.

How difficult would it be to get 250kw out of these?
How much wouuld need to be done?

Also..
if someone can tell me the difference between the
185kw, the 200kw and the 220kw.

From what I know they all use teh 5.0L windsor...

Herrods do a 250kw package consisting of a sports exhaust, camshaft and unichip.

The major difference between the 185kw and 200kw is the camshaft and exhaust headers. The 220kw gets revised heads with larger valves, a different cam, larger 70mm throttle body, and better exhaust.

Same motor, different intake systems, head works, cpu mapping, cams.

A 200 can be easily raised to 250 with a good cam, new edlebrock manifold, aftermarket cpu, and freeflow exhaust system.

Or a supercharger.

Or you can stroke it a la T3.

Expect to spend five big ones min on top of your car purchase price.

I'm in Melbourne eastern suburbs.

I'm weighing up between the Gen III and the 200kw XR8.

IMO (and many, many others) I think the scales are not balanced at all. Weighing up between Gen and XR8 is not worthy of comparing
Sure 200kw can be improved upon very easily and like others have said Rob Herrod is a good start.
The potential of the windsor far out weighs any potential of Gen 3.
