I have a k code 289 (hipo), awaiting a rebuild. I don't want to go to wild as it will be a daily driver. Could someone suggest a rebuilt path and parts that would hit around 300hp and be reasonable with fuel consumption? Or should i go lpg?

K codes were rated at 271 HP, 300hp would virtually be a stock rebuild. 300hp is easily achieved. Why use LPG on a K code?

I dunno, if I had a 289W and wanted a simple 300hp rebuild I'd give the motor and $2,200 to Bob Matic (http://www.fordmuscleparts.com.au/engines.htm) and get his 'GT Performance' package. However, if you've got a K-Code, they're 271hp standard anyway. A good exhaust and headers will do for 300hp.
