Re: 302 Engine Data
What do you want to know?
Differences:
1988 Crown Victoria:
E6 cylinder heads
Less-flowing upper intake
Less aggressive cam, with sedan firing order
50mm throttle body
Less aggressive fuel/timing curves in computer programming (also sedan firing order)
Cast, flat-top pistons
14#/hr injectors
1987-1993 Mustang/MarkVII:
E7 cylinder heads (significant improvement in design)
Better upper intake
More aggressive cam, HO firing order
60mm throttle body
More aggressive fuel/timing curve in computer programming (and HO firing order)
Forged pistons with valve reliefs
19#/hr injectors
1989-1993 Mustangs had MAF, Mark VIIs did not. However, if you do the HO conversion, you'll need the Mark VII computer, not a Mustang unit- unless you also want MAF, which is entirely unnecessary unless you do dramatic changes like a blower, nitrous, or a turbo and don't upgrade the proper parts to compensate, although the Mustang unit will not operate your cruise control.
