I am just wondering what you all think of the 302 compared to other 5 litre V8's namely the Holden EFI 304 engine. It seems to me that Windsors are only good if you replace half the engine with better parts such as manifold, heads, block etc etc. What do you all think of the Windsor, is it a bit of a dud or a great motor for modification?
It has one of the largest aftermarket product and upgrade support structures of any motor. Massive number of options to upgrade depending on setup. The only thing holding it back is the 500odd hp safe limit. But then again theres other blocks to use if you want massive power.
You want heads and intake?... No worries we got them...Umm which ones??? Too many to choose.
As for the 304. Great engine also. Much more limited options but they make great power. Another against?!...Every second hotted up engine is or was a holden 5.0 in this country. oh and the common whore thing!

Exactly thats why we know the upper limits of these motors..But with just bolt ons you would likely make 350h.p..Efi...to be streetable...
They ARE Fords most reliable engine when in production, with the least amount of warrenty claims..

Considering most 5ltr owner's don't go way overboard with wild mod's looking for huge HP, this is a great little engine for common modifaction's, easy to source part's and make some good power, I luv my little windsor.

But as was said before there is so many aftermarket performance parts for this engine that Mod'ing for more power is easy as picking the parts. The cost of parts and labour is the hard bit but then again thats the same with any V8 engine...
