Any one out they built a 500 hp standard stroke 351w and is willing to share they combo. The combo i have atm is putting out 400 hp. The combo is

Procomp alloy heads

Trickflow R series EFI manifold

Yella Terra 1.73 ratio rockers

KB pistons with 10.5:1 comp

Come racing soild cam (.540" valve lift, 237 deg@.50" duration)

I am wanting to change my combo and i am chasing around 500hp with out stroking or using a roller cam. Any ideas ?

237@50 is a baby, I'd be thinking you would want something up in the mid 240's@50 with more lift, that is if those heads can flow anymore.

Do you have flow numbers for the heads?

Had them flow tested b4 i fitted them. Heads are good for 535 hp

It looks like more cam is all you can do without raising the compression more.

Do you have the chart? I'd go over it with a few different cam grinders see if they see a need to go larger on the camshaft.

For starters.....Being a Cortina what pipes (extractors) are you using?? custom or castle auto's etc?? If not customs i'd say a good set of 13/4 or 1 7/8 4-1's and twin 21/2 or 3" X pipe etc. And maybe a better ECU if you haven't already.. I'm a little sus on them pro comp products now as my old TD has broken 2 of their roller rockers atm and its only got a Crane 236/240 @.050 and .536thou lift hyd cam. Hmmm what else....
Throttle body upgrade, manifold spacer, being EFI maybe a different tuner, get the heads ported plus nick a little off the face for more compression and with a bigger cam it'll still be fine for PULP.. Read some Muscle Mustang mags there are a lot of tricks in there. Myself I'd also find a "real" good cam guy and let them have a look doing a custom cam. I know Mick at HOGG Performance in Brisbane and he's finding so much more just by a lot of little changes with in the cam and lots of engine dyno time (he wont tell all his tricks) Maybe even give him a call even just for a chat, he could work something out for you (07) 33764333. What hp he is making while still using his cast 2v and 4v heads is crazy......

Also better box, stall and diff gears will be good if your after ET's. Plus without it the engine combo just wont work right. So its the full package you'll be needing to look at too.

yer already done that, fitted full manual c10 with 4000rpm dominator converter.
