G'day..

Once I've finished porting my "mad as" E7s, I'm going to need some head gaskets to install them. I've been quoted around $250 for a VRS kit... but i really only want the head gaskets and manifold gaskets. I can get all the manifold gaskets seperatly for around $50 total. I havnt investigated buying the head gaskets seperatly yet, but ive got a question:

Will old 289/302 carby engine head gaskets fit my late model 5.0?

The reason i ask is that there are mobs on ebay selling gasket kits for these engines for less than $100. presumably the manifold gaskets will be different, but the head gaskets (the bit i really need) would be the same wouldnt they?

Yes the older windsor head gaskets will fit. The intake gaskets also fit but are fairly small compared with the decent felpro 1250 intake gasket.

pay the extra $$$ and get decent head gaskets, no point doing all this work to have a head gasket fail, due to trying to do it on the cheap.
