Question 5ltr windsors opinions wanted

I am looking at buying an XR8 sprint which has 200k oa clock,at what sort of milage would you have to rebuild? would this be down on new KW's at this age.... i have no idea how many ks theese motors are good for!!!!!

I'd still rebuild it anyways. Giving it a nice freshen up, cause you never know what the previous owner has done to it. It's always a plesent sound listening to a tight brand new engine fire up.... *grunt* *grunt* *grunt*

Mine has averaged a rebuild every, oh, 5000km. But there's more to the story than that. Provided a Windsor is fed good quality oil and coolant, and both are changed regularly, the engine should be going real strong. Just give it a tune up with plugs, off-car injector clean etc and it should be at its perky best.

If it has oil pressure, good or reasonable compression, little blow by, no rattles, it's in good nick... still.. Don't go too much by the odometer...
