0425 Registered User Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 3	66 289 heads on 79 302? Any input? This will be the first engine I've rebuilt, and I don't want it to be a dog...so I started looking for heads. I'm not going to race it, it's going to be a weekend cruiser in my 97 Ford Ranger... The 289 heads will bump compression a point or so, but will I lack top end because of the small valves? I would like to keep this rebuild as easy on the wallet as possible... Thanks. Kevin
