Re: which alloy heads

If you intend to stroke it, go the AFR205's. If it is going to stay 351, go the AFR185's

You have good taste. Cortinas make nice drag cars :)

I've raced nitroused V8 cortinas on and off for over 20 years. I retired about a year ago.......

I've only used 185's, not 205's. On second thoughts if its strip only, use the 205's with a healthy solid (or roller) cam around 250+@.050, .650 lift

Re: which alloy heads

With a "real" 400hp it should run easy 11's

Re: which alloy heads

get protopline heads they have 3 types 180cc, 200cc & 215cc. The exhaust flow is the same on all 3 types of heads but the intake side is different. I've heard of lot's off good things about these heads and they only released them recently. With the 200cc & 215cc version expect to make eazy 450 to 500 bhp eazy without even porting them (This will depend on your camshaft type & grind and also on the rest of the motor eg. intake, exhaust, carb...etc)

I am planing to use them on my 408 windsor stroker with a 200bhp Nitrous kit. I am about the start building the motor any week now....
