Alternative heads

has anyone ever tried modifying their windsor heads Gurney weslake style or know of anywhere that makes ripp offs of these.

might be off topic, but i bought AFR (air flow research) heads for my windsor, they flow something stupid like 620hp...they did cost me $2850 tho :(

Good luck with your search.
There going to cost heaps if you can find a set someones willing to part with.
Which ones are thinking off?
As the only set ive seen had the exhaust coming out of the heads were the inlet would normaly go.But they did make alot of heads in there time.

I haven't heard of these heads before. What is different about them?

All I know is that Dan gurney used to drive an Eagle-Westlake F1 car in the 60's, but I thought that car used a 3L V8.....

The heads i mentioned earlier were ford developed double overhead camshaft heads made for the 260windsor for F1 in the early 60's

These are still pushrod heads. the inlet comes almost straight down over the valve. Then webbers bolt straight to the head on a slight inclination towards the centre of the engine. There were other variations such as 3valve and reverse inlet. These heads were used on Gurneys indycars and designed be weslake. Weslake actually tested the ford ohc head and said that the ports were to big on those.
