Re: Anyone Tried E303 FMS cam

I once test drove an AU3 XR8 with an E303. It also had Pro Topline alloy heads, a T56 6 speed and changed diff ratios which probably improved driveability with that cam (??)

It drove fine - perhaps less torque down low than stock and its idle was lumpy but consistent. I think it may have had some cold start issues as it didn't have the computer modified or chipped in any way.

Have you considered using the same cam or specification that was in the AU 220 kw? I think this is a great compromise.

Re: Anyone Tried E303 FMS cam

The E303 isn't a bad cam, and it always gets decent results but it has been around for soooooo long and the newer cam designs offer a lot more. Cams like the Crane 2031/2020, TFS1 and a number of Comp cam designes develop similar if not better peak power, far better low end and midrange and are generally more EEC friendly.

Re: Anyone Tried E303 FMS cam

My parent's have a E303 cam that was fitted to their otherwise stock 5-speed EL GT falcon - woke the thing up and i'd go as far as it wouldof knocked at least a second of it's 1/4 mile (not that dad would ever EVER let me take it there lol)
