Can anyone in the know tell me if it is possible to bolt up the current Barra V8 Auto to any Windsor or Cleveland and have all gears working including the adaptive shift feature???

The pattern on the back of the block is completely different, but I suppose nothings impossible.

I thought all the brains for the AU and BA auto boxes was built into the PCM computer which also controls all the engine stuff. That would limit those boxes to late model donks. I think you'd need to use an earlier auto that has it's own computer.

Check out an Auto from U.S importer .They are 4 speed.The early ones are not ecu controled,pluss they "may" be cheap????

Those imported boxes are called AOD.
Decent boxes, smooth enough.....but unsure of power handling capability.

Yes you are right but the local auto hasn't got a good reputation to handle big power either..But ok for street. btw they use them behind 5.8's so must be reasonable...
