I just put some chrome rocker covers on my DC! looks great. This is the first time ive had my new car apart really, and ive got a couple of questions...
1. why is there coolant lines going to the throttle body/manifold?
2. what brand and size ignition leads do you guys recommend, the ones on there are dated 1992 :/
3. what is the purpose of the giant rubber boot over the distributer? is it simply to keep water out?
4. anyone got any pictures of the stock HO inlet manifold polished? im thinking of doing this.
cheers fellas.

As far as I know, the coolant lines are to cool the exhaust gasses from the EGR valve. The rubber boot would mainly be for moisture reasons. As for leads, any good 9mm or above should be fine, go any bigger and you won't be able to clip them into their holders. I have seen the HO manifolds polished up and they do look good, but it is a lot of work to get it done.
BTW, how much did the rocker covers set you back and what type are they?
Its not a straight swap, the oil filler cap is moved to the other side and the pcv hose is moved to the back of the engine. they are higher than the stock ones but they still fitted okay. I used the fancy wingnut bolts in all but the top middle due to clearance issues with the upper manifold. the oil breather I blocked off so it simply acts as a cap.

Yeah the cover is just to protect the dizzy from water, it looks NASTY IMHO. If you don't care about clipping the leads into their holders then you can go with an arbitrary large size. As for the manifold... it is a lot of work and may not end up matching your rocker covers anyway. You could always colour code your HO like I did.
I always use 10mm Top Gun Pro Series around $89 a bunch. On my XD 351C 10.25:1 it stopped dieseling when I turn it off. The old leads were 8mm Quickfire's. Other brands like Eagle, Accell, Mallory, Taylor, ICE are also good. Most important is the COLOUR !!!

You just need the 5 LITRE V8 finishing panel from an AU 5 Litre to finish of the Intake Manifold.
