Hey guy's wondering if any one would know if you could put cleveland forged flat tops into a 93 5.0l windsor. What i've got is my 5.0l, i brought new y303 alloy heads and a svo310 camshaft, i also have 1:1.73 adjustable roller rockers. I was wondering would i have enough clearence or would i need to fly cut or valve relief the flat tops? Or is it a complete waste of time experimenting? I am going today to do a dry run with my original setup and check the clearence then measure back from there. I was wondering has anyone done this with an idea of weather it would work or it is not worth the stuffing around?

The pin height will be wrong and valve reliefs in wrong place also..

Yeah knew that, but was hoping to skim the tops of the pistons to make the comp height correct and have enough clearence to run the flat tops. Unfortunately i have the 1.73 rockers and with the cam i have there is not enough clearence. But thanks for that anyway.

The Windsor has higher deck??? Right ??

Nar a bit smaller the clevo has the higher deck and also longer block as well. Comp height for a winndsor is 1.600" to clevo 1.635". So not much difference but enough to shoot down my idea. But it was worth the experiment might have been able to pull it off had a few things been different.

That would mean having the pistons machined, and were I am nobody wants to do anything experimental like that so to get it they want to charge two arms and a leg. To get valve reliefs put in and the tops skimmed $480 best price i could get. My neighbor work for mahle which is the piston factory formally acl, so he is getting me a set of forged piston really cheap. So the cost's just don't justify trying to do it sadly. But it was woth a shot had i owned a lathe and mill.
