Do late 5.0lt heads fit early 351w block??? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Has anybody done or know off the old 351w block being used with EFI heads, or the 351w crank used in the late 302w EFI Block. I have searched for info on either and cant determine whether it can be done or not

My aim is to stroke the 302 but avoiding where possible the 347

Late model 5.0lt heads do fit on an early 351w blocks, i have done this myself. But you can not fit a 351w crank into a 5.0lt block.

Thanks thats great to know and now have some where to start. Though I am curious whether you fitted efi or carb.

If this is of any consequence...I think that early and late 351 Windsor heads have different water jacket designs where they meet the intake don't they? If so...this would mean that early and late intakes are not interchangeable.

I fitted EFI using a Trickflow inlet manifold.
