dyno question

Hey everyone, an easy question for you this time… I want to get my ignition timing retarded a little on the Windsor to avoid pinging under certain circumstances. Ford want $80 to do it so I thought I could take it to a dyno tuning place instead to get the timing sorted and tune it too. What’s actually involved in a dyno tune? What apart from the ignition timing to they tweak with the standard ECU? Can anyone recommend a good place in Brisbane, preferably north side? Approx how much for this to be done? Also, I’m still not sure when I can afford the pacemakers (having just moved house and getting massive bills coming from every-which-where) so is it worth getting it dyno tuned now and then again after the pacemakers, only before or only after?

Thanks for your help.

try stafford tune...in stafford (no surprise there)

they are the motec dealers in qld and hell nice guys to boot.

as for tuning i am not sure what you expect to have done but unless you have a chip or aftermarket ecu you can't change many of the settings. but they will be able to change the timing for you

i think get a dyno tune after you get the extractors, you might also need a bit more fuel pressure to stop the pinging...
