Re: E303 Cam, thoughts

The E303 is a good cam, but IMO there are better out there. The Crane 2030 or Trickflow 51402000 provide as good if not better power figures along with a wider powerband and better idle.

Roller lifters would probably be sourced from the US much cheaper than in Aust. But it is uncommon that they have to be replaced, usually you only need to dissmantle and clean them out as there is very little wear with the roller lifters.

Re: E303 Cam, thoughts

if you go to palmyra for any of the test and tunes (this friday) you will see a dark green ED sprint it runs 12.9-13.1 consistantly. 347 stroke with e303 cam. owner works at one of the automatic shops in mackay.

Re: E303 Cam, thoughts

I echo EDXR8's comments. The E303 is old school. There are a lot of better cams out there now.

x2!

Good cam but past it. Much better profiles exist these days. 2030 (w 1.6r/r) or 2031 (w 1.7 r/r) and a fair number more!

Re: E303 Cam, thoughts

I had that cam in my old motor..It's actually more agressive than 2031, more for engine with smaller ports where duration is required to get some flow..
220/220 @50 498 lift and 110 lob seperation which makes it peaky but in some ways ideal with 302's short stroke...Yes with our cars being heavier [Falcons compared to Mustang ] the lesser duration on inlet of 2031 is much better ,but harder on valve gear due to extra lift and steeper ramps !! Make sure you have good valve springs..The single Tickford one's just WON'T do the job, they'll valve bounce bad and will stretch the top of valve stem...The Crane Cams have split duration to improve drivabilty...
Interesting from memory the race Yamaha TS 50 Falcon had this cam....

What else has this guy done? They are some great numbers, I'm heading to Makay in a few weeks, wouldn't mine chatting to this guy, would you happen to know his shop name?

347 stroker TFS twisted wedge heads, TFS manifold, 85mm BBK throttle body and airflow meter with LCD display that allows you to tune it for air fuel ratio and 3.9 diff E303 cam roller rockers, and it runs 12.6

Re: E303 Cam, thoughts

Pretty much the same as you mate but at 13.21
321 RW/hp
I run an E303 and have done since the last 4 yrs or so. I love the idle & the powerband is just right for me.

You have 3.9 final drive ??? If not that would be about the difference...
