Im just about to begin rebuilding a 302 out of an eb falcon running an auto. While i was at it i thought it would be a good idea to try giving it abit more power. Im not after huge gains, just a good improvement.
I have bought a set of complete gt40p heads and am thinking about buying a better cam. Im not into giving my cars a hard time so id like something that works best abit lower in the rev range, maybe from 1800 - 2000 rpm or so upwards. Can anyone make a suggestion that might point me in the right direction.
if i upgrade the cam is a good next step to upgrade the rockers to a higher ratio, or do i have to stick with 1.6 ratio rockers ( im guessing this is whats standard on the gt40p heads i bought) to avoid any chance of the valves smacking the pistons?
is there any real advantage in getting higher ratio rockers if you upgrade to a decent cam?
iv got soo many things i could ask but i dont want to make this thread too much of an effort to answer.

You don't need higher ratio rockers especially with a larger cam and a stock bottom end with stock pistons. When you look for a low end cam don't look for big duration numbers that is what kills bottom end.Get a good intake and carb to go with the heads.
