Hey guys,
i own an EB II XR8 and its stock. i know that when new it made about 165kw at the engine which is around 110 rwkws right? well mods can i do to it so i can get 250 kw at the engine? How much would it cost and where could i get it done, i live in melbourne does anyone know any good performance shops around here? sorry about all the questions, any info would be cool, thanks.
You can go to Ford and say build my engine to the T3 250kw spec. Which is basically a 347 bottom end and I believe (but dont quote me) a tickled GT40P head.
Im sure others can help with prices etc. You can also visit Mr Herrod himself, mind you your wallet will be a bit empty after that, but you will have quality parts from him.
I got 161 kw ( at the wheels ) with a unichip, which everyone will probably agree are the best for fords, extractors, GT40 ( AU 111 ) manifold and with a bit of head work. i am currently building a 347 or 5.6L stroker for it which will be 200 + kw at the wheels. hope this helps. if you are in need of some help call Chris Finin from Northern Diffs in camberfield, he is doing my stroker. hope this helps
Depends on what you want to do. to get quick and noticable results get a set of extractors and a GT40 manifold and get your heads reco with a bit of a port job. that will be around 1500 - 2000, not quite sure. The unichip cost $1000 and $300 to tune and dyno. stroker well it all depends if you do it yourself or get a pro to do it. if you are serious about a stroker send in another post and i will put you onto a guy who is doing mine, i have found him to be really good.

The maf on these are only 55mm after exhaust,inlet,heads,maf,24 inj, throttle body then 1:7 roller rockers.Sould be around 220 kw or around 160-180 rwkw... Parts don't have to be original Ford parts but there are some good prices for second hand heads etc...Which respond well to some more port work esp on exhaust ports...

First step has to be to get yourself close AU III specs.
So in my opinion your going to need GT40p heads, GT40 or Trickflow inlet manifold, 70mm Throttle Body, cam, replacement extractors, 2.5' exhaust (better torque with the above setup than 3" IMO), Unichip, and best to freshen up the bottom end with new bearings, rings, etc... at the same time.
This is similar to my stg 1 build that i had done and delivered 170rwKw.
APS in Heidelberg has done all my work.
You can call them for pricing on 9455 3222
my car is a manual. Fuse sounds like he has a good package there and he is getting decent rwkw. it all comes down to $$$$$$. The GT 40 heads are really good but cost over $1000, where if you port and work the E7 heads you can get close to the same results. depends on how serious you are. If you get the GT40 heads you will have to make sure your extractors are made so there is enough clearance between them and spark plug leads as the GT40 spark plugs are on a different angle, thats why they are a better also because they have a more agressive angle which is better for performance but not so good on fuel economy. but feel free anyone to correct me if i am wrong.
also fuse have you thought of doing a stroker to yours, you are doing all this stuff to your 5.0L might as well get a stroker.
