I know that AU's don't have EGR polution stuff, but is it possible to remove mine? Any known power increases?
Another reason i want to remove it, is to fit an AU XR8 Engine cover to my engine, and by looking at pictures of AU's, the covers seem to look like they would hit the EGR valve..
Cheers,
Yagz

Removing the EGR will give very little power increase, if any at all. Some people have removed it and are running ok but others have problems with pinging. One of the main advantages of the EGR system is that it lowers combustion chamber temperatures which stops pinging as well as reducing emissions.
we did an au t/b conversion on an elII xr8, and havn't had any problems with detonation or anything, spun it up on the dyno and the a/f ratios were spot on, no leaning out what so ever.
These heads on U.S cars had an external egr from the back of the head..
Our epa is not as strict as Cal. U.S...From AU on these engines came from a truck..Explorer...As all other engines/ vehicles went ohc in U.S in 95.. The latter models did have issues with detonation esp T3's...
