im just wonding, im getting the XH XR8 engine before christmas, and im being nagged to have it ready to chuck on the rollers for an upcoming dyno day.
will i have any problems running the engine with my NC loom and ECU?
i am getting the loom and ecu from the EL/XH engine, but im also fitting the dash, console etc, so i dont want to use the EL loom untill im ready to do the dash.
im unsure, im buying it sight unseen ( i will have a look at it before i hand over my cash though) i am pretty sure its the explorer motor, but either way, the price is hella right!.
i can get my hands on a set of explorer manifolds and AU maf/TB easily, and i have an explorer lower in my cupboard.
i dont think there'd be any probs either was just checking though.
do the XH / EL XR8 engines have bigger injectors or were these brought in with the higher output AU V8's?
Sensors shoudl all be the same as well as the wiring on the engine side. Obviously the loom to the EEC is different being EECIV to EECV. Also if it is an auto, the wiring is slightly different. The NC will use a seperate TPS for the auto while the EL/XH engine may get the signal from the EEC itself. Beign a ute engine you may find it is not an explorer based engine, they tend to use old parts in the utes.
