Wanting to upgrade to 24lb injectors on my EL XR8 Series 1. Car has standard 19lb injectors at the moment. I am also goin to change the MAF to an AU XR8 65ml as well as the whole upper/lower intake manifold & T/B. Now What needs to be done to the ECU to recognise the change of injectors and MAF
It will be o/k.. Esp if you are changing the whole inlet maf/ inj...Fine tuning can come latter if you want...
Just make sure the A.U had 24's with that maf.. Some of the early A.U's 185 kw I guess where 19's....Should be blue in colour..hth..

Well I am going thw whole lot. Replacing the Upper/Lower Intake manifold aswell as the T/B with the 65mm & changing the MAF to a 65mm too. The intake manifold already has the fuel rail attached with the Blue injectors (which are 24lb) on it. I always though by changing the MAF & injectors something would need to be done to the ECU to recognise that the car is running 24lb injectors as at the momment the ECU would be tuned to run on 19lb.
Can anyone confirm this? Maybe someone here has done this mod before

If the stuff you have is straigh off an AU, the injectors wont plug into the loom on the EL... Actually pretty much all the electrical connectors on the AU's are different to the EL's...
Yes thats right.I guess there is a way around that though, change the fittings on inj loom?. Na heaps go from 19's to 42's+ [with forced induction] so long as maf is calibrated it will work...Providing maf is big enough..I think el 2's had bigger mafs if not the au's did..Latter mafs are 70+ mm..

I always thought that the EEC V was a very smart computer, so if you were to do this info, you will have to change the plugs, and then leave the battery disconnected for 1/2 an hour then reconnect. This basically resets the computer then it should learn all the info. With the MAF, I don't know whether you should just replace the internals with the originals or not, seeing as though you are changing injectors as well.

Would an AU Maf housing be safe enough for me to put on my EB without a change of injectors? If so, it seems like the way to go for a little extra performance!
