Just want to know the cheapest way to get an extra 5-10rwkw & torque on the windsor? I really am on a tight budget here.

Reason Im asking this is because I was racing a guy in a EF ghia 6 (which looks the goods) this morning and he seemed to have just that little bit extra on me. It wasnt much but was enough to piss me off.

I wanna have the upper hand next time I see him as he lives about 6 houses up from me on the same street.

Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you cleaned your MAF and TB? Do the K&N whilst you're at it. I'm not sure what snorkel options you have but have a look into that and also you've mentioned a custom CAI, try to tweak that a little for more power. This is all cheap stuff and might see some gains. This is what I did My new ram-air induction set-up

Have you advanced your ignition timing? Try 34degrees and try some octane booster for a once off poofteenth of a kW

Well, Ive done the K&N filter alreay along with the CAI. The timing has already been advanced to 30 from 25. MAF im not too confident on cleaning incase i stuff something up. I didnt have the cash at the time to be in with the underdrive pulley deal. The TB is an AUXR8 65mm tb. I already have 3.45 diff ratio. Only thing I think needs sorting properly but is gonna cost is, the hiflo cats and bigger y piece as I have got the stock POS cats and y piece. Other than that I have pacemakers and 2.5" exhaust with straight thru muffler.

If you still have the original MAF, that will be like trying to suck through a straw, try and find a bigger one and put your electronics into that. If you get carbie cleaner and just spray it on the MAF wire it will clean it and you don't have to touch it, I am still yet to do this but I really should as I have cleaned my K&N twice in my car.

Thanks twin piston, Im a little hesitant to clean the maf as I have heard that there is a protective coating on the inside of the maf that apparantly shouldnt be removed with any sort of cleaner. I can see that oil from the filter could be jamming it up too but I still feel that I could be doing more damage than good. Any experts on this?

take out your spare wheel, have less petty in your tank...
get an au MAF, put your electronics on it...
other than that you'd have to start spending big money...
heads/manifold...

maybe get your exhaust changed like you said....put a 3inch system on...
i wouldn't get high flow cats unless yours are rooted, they are overrated

stock cats arent really tooo bad. but if you really wanna ditch the stockers, get HM headers coz htey come with cats. (i've got em... no drone with 2.5"-single muffler system)

headers mean that you're exhaust wont be heaps louder (a HAD driver couldnt tell the different note).. coz if you do exhaust he'll hear it..

thanks guys for your replies. Apart from a ford dealer, where would i get an AU MAF from? Wreckers dont seem to have too many parts from AU XR's.

Exhaust would be the next thing if I had the cash spare. Im happy with the pacemakers but I would have thought the stock y piece would have been fairly restrictive. I wouldnt get new cats anyway considering I could pick up a set of VX commo cats with the larger diam for $100 a pair.

What I might do is make sure my air filter is clean, get the maf cleaned, and perhaps look into what a second hand AU maf body is worth.

Do the normal weight reduction stuff as SiKEDXR8 says. Also I think you'll find that 30� �2� is the factory spec. You can go to 34 if you're using premo and you'll get benefit from that.
