There is a place here around Sydney, I have heard that does this sort of stuff..I have seen in MM/FF that H.O inlets flow slightly better than Explorer std type inlets..
Also Ford used this technique to improve power on the 2000 Cobra Mustang as it didn't make the power it advertised. Which resulted in a recall in U.S to get Extrude Honed...

Before i ended up fitting the AU XR8 inlet, i looked into this too (would be great to have same or greater flow than Cobra inlet, and still look dead stock when you open the bonnet). Also no probs with insurance either...
At the time i found a company called ‘Specialised Power Porting’ (03 5341 8028) who said they could do the same thing in Australia. CAn't remember where they were in VIc though. At the time (18 months ago i think) they quoted around $800 for the upper and lower, so its not cheap. From memory they seemed really helpful, so try giving them a call.
It would probably mean that I'd have to get it sent over to Syndey to get it done but if its worth it who cares, right?
If anyone has before and after flow figures I'd really appreciate it.
I was thinking though, that if it was going to cost $800 to extrude hone say a stock 5.0l upper & lower intake, for an extra 200-300 bucks I could get an Edelbrock performer or Trickflow set of intakes instead that would bo doubt flow more than a ported stock manifold could dish out?
Yes it does sound quite expensive to do something like this. I would assume fully serious ppl with victor jnr intakes and insane heads would be keen to milk out any extra kw by going this way?
If this doesnt work at the www to this musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/0210mmff_airflow/index.html

What part dont you understand?
They use an abraisive putty if you like which is forced through the manifold, following the contours & shapes opening them up perfectly..
