In NZ youd get 2-2500 for the package I think the 8eights were much more common in OZ

Re: going price for 302w

But then again I suspect Huff is aiming for a private sale rather than selling to a wrecking yard.

I once got offered "$3k, tops" for my EB (5.0 Ghia) when I was desparate to sell it early last year (I was broke). I promptly told him what he could shove up his arse, and how far up he should shove it.

Best of luck with your sale mate. NC Steve's post gives you a good idea of what a major wrecking yard will offer you, so it'd be in your best interest to get an extra $500-$1000 by selling privately.

Re: going price for 302w

I'd expect about $1,400 to $1,900 assuming 'as is'. Seperate the tranny, engine and ECU... you might get a bit more.

Re: going price for 302w

If you do decide to sell it in pieces rather than a single unit, don't expect much interest in the HO manifold, E7 heads, stock t/b and stock maf

Unless... you find someone with an old XW who wants to convert their car to unleaded the expensive way, or who wants a basic EFI conversion.

You'd be surprised at the interest there is in the 5.0s. Two friends of mine who drive EAs love 5.0s, and would love to do a V8 conversion, but of course much of that is just dreaming. I'm sure there are a few people who have viewed this thread and have gone "damn... a 5.0 in my XF/EA/E-series would be sweet!"

I just hope someone reads it who wants one enough to buy yours

Re: going price for 302w

ive been in wrecking for 14 years and never been able to get more than $1500 if you get an enquiry even that is..
sold plenty of 5.0 VN crappydore conversions 2500.. no falc ones.. Not soo poular..
the auto box would sell for 700.. just couldnt move engines..
gms spares and formula 1 spares in SYD both have full conversions for $1500.
make it manual and a 5 speed conversion alone is worth $2000 when you can find one.
there is an NC fairlane ghia 5.0 in trading post QLD at moment for $2500 with reg
