Head Gasket Signs?

Hey just wondering if theres any signs to look out for to see if my HG is gone on my 91 EB V8. If I look above the fan and above the water pump, theres often a pool of coolant sitting there in the recess. Its just really that, the car isnt even over heating...if anything its running a little on the cold side any ideas?

Re: Head Gasket Signs?

I thought when a head gasket goes the car is pretty much stuffed till you get it fixed???

If its still running properly and you dont have milky oil (i think the milky oil is from leaky head gasket, correct me if im wrong anyone) then id say your head gasket isnt too bad. You'll know when that goes!

Keep an eye on your water levels though, sounds like you've got a nice leak somewhere

Re: Head Gasket Signs?

The coolant above the water pump is probably just one of those small coolant hoses leaking, it won't be due to a head gasket.
