Help on hole in block skirt please

Before I put the sump on, can anyone tell me what the hole shown in the attached pics is for?

it should have a ball bearing in it ?.... blocking it.. mabie

is it a blind hole or a hole with a thread in it?..............if it has a thread, what size is it?

It now has a rubber plug in it courtesy of a Toyota bonnet stop.

Oil stick from F150 or any body that requires rear sump...
They scew into this hole with flex hose to top of engine bay...
