we are trying to put a late model 351 windsor engine in a 67' fairlane(me and my father). the v8 pan from the fairlane will not fit the windsor due to the fact that the rear-main bearing cap is physicall larger than on the 302 engine we removed.Also all the bolt holes line up except for the two adjacent to the rear - main bearing cap. the windsor engine has a 1 piece rear main seal,(1984 model, i believe the engine is) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Went through all this when I was going to fit 351.Sump and front assembly fittment issues. I think you need a 351 sump.Try a bigger one after market or modified one ??..

Yep 351w sumps are completely different to 289/302.
Just buy a High energy winged sump for a 351w. The stock oil capacity is hopeless anyway.

Carefull with winged sumps in e series, clearance with suspension etc hth

thanks for the great info, however... were looking to go the low- budget route. is there not a stock pan that will fit? engine were putting in is bone stock, with aluminum intake and a small 4- barrel carb. 250- 400 bucks seems a bit steep for our shoestring buildup.there's gotta be a stock pan out there somewhere that will fit. come on folks , put your thinking caps on. :)
