intake manifold replacement

Looking at replacing my stock intake manifold on my 5.0lt EB. Anyone got any suggestions on any aftermarket stuff out there n wat kinda price Id be looking at?

it all comes down to how much $$$$ you want to spend and how much hp you want?
you can get explorer manifolds pretty cheap which are good for budget apllications, but it all comes to $$$ & hp

std stroke, alloy heads, comp cam, tfs manifold, 75mm t/b, 70mm maf, 30lb inj, adj fuel press reg, twEECer

there will be plenty of opinions as to which is best. heres one site covering some of the plethora of aftermarket manifolds available.

i also have been considering putting on a new intake before any other mods. Am i correct in assuming the tickford 200kw intake is has very standard performance ?

I too am doing mods on EDV8 - can get AU111 XR8 GT40P heads & 1.7 rockers for $1500. they have only done 17000km. - is this price ok?
what manifold do I use? have read various threads - is the explorer manifold out of the 4wd exploder?
what cam? - have read threads seems crane 2030 or 2031 - car is auto.which cam with the 1.7 rockers. is there crow cam to suit. must idle ok.
have organised 65mm TB - anyone have EGR spacer and 70mm MAF.

Explorer manifolds aren't that bad, they aren't the ultimate in big HP motors, but they do flow around 200cfm per runner, compared with about 140cfm for the HO manifold.

With 1.72 RR's, the 2030 is too big, the 2031 would suit it, and should idle fairly smoothly.

Theres a lot to be said for an Explorer manifold with the lower ported!

What was the difference in flywheel kw between the standard EL 5.0 Fairmont Ghia intake and the Explorer version?

Whats the flow figure etc for a ported lower stock or ported upper on the explorer ???

347 238rwkw untuned and with a couple more lil things to change :)
