Aigggggghhhhhh!

After beating Jacob senseless I thought It was time to get some ideas out into the open, ie- how to design the EA from hell as many put it. That is if it were physically possible to use a EA unit to build a 429 ci (7 litre) stroked Windsor V8 unit that would go like a road based racecar? Or is the stroked 5.6 the final frontier.
I read a American Magazine "5l Mustang" and I certainly don't think that is the case. Good read.

My knowledge of motors is elementary as for most of the car I admit, though I hope their are some serious grease monkeys, part-time petrol heads and mechanical engineers amoungst us. So here goes-

Problem- how do you put a big donk into a EA that you can use
as a daily driver?

Method-?

Solution- throw lots of money at it and you'll get around nearly
any problem....

So here goes who's brave enough to give ideas-
and then someone who thinks they can build it and have enough money to do so. It would definetly be centrefold edition in any street machine mag! So who's game !!!

and all the other things my brain cannot think of at this moment in time.... If someone can take a supercarged Mercedes 4 door V8 to past 350kmph who carn't we take a 4 door EA to where no Falcon has gone before?

Well perhaps it isn't so complicated. Grandpa did have some good ideas, but the project would require a lot of highly specialised components and work to be done. Compared to just chucking a turbo on an EA six or V8, the costs would go through the roof.

A proper roll cage might even be necessary. A lot of testing for aerodynamics... you might be able to buy a Porsche cheaper after all.

Why don't you start with the base 302 windsor engine,an import from the states,they seem to be cheaper then the Ausssie units.Swap the crossmember over to the EB unit.Then use one of the many stroker cranks from SVO to are other brands found in most Mustang books.Holley and Offenhouser are some.Not quite sure if either of these supply cranks but I know for shore they have there own bolt on kits which definatley produce the goods.Most kits include heads,cam and manifold and possible extractors and even bigger throttle bodies up to 80mm I think.

The Yanks are made crazzy with there Ford's especially the Mustang.I'll have to find this Mustang book I have,with one very quick street stang on the cover running into the 10's I think with out bottom end mods.This is of course the 5.4 L.Its a shame there is not more Falcons V8's cruzzing the streets with some American parts under there bonnets.Most Ford dealerships will be able to get you a SVO cataloge with all the prices and parts unthinkable in them.You can even get a race prepped short motor.
