modifying w302 efi

hey peoples. i have a ef xr8 manual and i am planing on doing mods to it. the car is pretty standard atm except for the ginie exhaust with the cats knocked out. (one of them blew out) i dont really want to go the way of stroking it as i like the idea of a 5ltr. i might go the way of a sidemount super charger further dont the track.
any thoughts would be useful as i havent decided where would be the best place to start this build.
thanks all

Re: modifying w302 efi

a blower would be a gr8 start but as usual it all has to do wif $$$$ u can do a lot of little things and this usually will cos u close to the same as a major mod, the prob is if 2 cars hav the same major mod the lil things r gonna make yours the quicker. u got a budget in mind?

Re: modifying w302 efi

i dont really have a buget. its more of i build it as i get money. i want the blower to be my last option. the first thing i was thinkin of was doing some cam and head work. maybe the gt40p heads? from there it was going to be the intake. thanks

Re: modifying w302 efi

What is your budget for the mods in total ?
And do you want to do it in stages or all at once ?

Re: modifying w302 efi

there is no total buget as i dont know when i will stop. i will probably do it in stages because of this. things like the heads i will do at once rather than continuesly removing them.

Re: modifying w302 efi

The first bottle neck you can get rid of is the intake manifold.

Keep your eyes open for an Edelbrock or Trickflow intake manifold.
2nd hand they go for about $800.
That alone will make a hell of a difference to the cars get up and go, and give you a big smile.

When more money comes along get a 70mm MAF & throttle body & better air intake.

Keep your eye out on ebay.

That will keep you happy for a while.

Then once you have a 2 to 3 grand in your pocket, pull it all apart again and throw some good heads (and all the roller gear) and a dirty cam for some serious horsepower

Re: modifying w302 efi

i was looking at a upper and lower typhoon manifold. there is one on ebay now for adout 300. but i read futher into it and read that you have to grind out the manifolds to match the heads using the gasket.

thanks for your help!!
