Well im just about to be the owner of the above, just wondering what sort of power they put out and what really cheapish mods can i do to get a little more from it that the insurance company don't mind about as it was hard enough to find someone to insure me. im thinking decent set of plugs and leads and maybe some air intake?
also are there any inherent problems with this particular V8?

I have the equivilant model LTD, almost identical.
is it on gas?
they put out 165kw at the fly from the factory, my LTD put out 121rwkw running pretty damn rich, so theres more there (mine has exhaust and extractors).
PLENTY of insurance friendly mods but most arnt real cheap. all of this stuff you can take from an AU v8 so its all genuine ford parts, i wouldnt bother telling insurance company but thats up to you. the intake is severly restrictive, so anything you can do to improve flow will help. heres a little list of usual mods..
Exhaust.. not sure, i guess around $500?
Extractors $400+ new
bigger maf (thats the air flow meter on the intake) around $200
bigger throttle body around $200-300
better manifold $700+
better heads 1250+
bigger injectors around $500
despite common folklore, your v8 is identical to one in an XR8.

i own and love my NC V8, you can do stacks and stacks of stuff with them.
there an awesome cruiser.
mine put down 114.5rwkw with a screwed exhaust. ive since fitted a twin 2.5" system, AU XR8 snorkel, BMC filter, so once the headders and cats go in ill put it back on teh dyno. expecting around the 130rwkw at that stage.
how many kms has yours done? mines just starting to show signs that its getting old, with 295,000kms, so an engine rebuild is on the cards soon
other mods ive done include the LTD interior, lowered it, half way through a custom front...
