new heads to get?

Hi guys i was just after a few thoughts about what heads i should get for my 302. One of mine is cracked hence the need for new ones. I was thinking trickflow, AFR, edelbrock performer 289. My mechanic said i could probably go with a set of heads that are used on AU series 3 but they will be cast iron. I'm not that good with engines so any ideas would be helpful. At the moment i've got a 66 mustang coupe with a 302 in it, stock heads, edelbrock performer 289, holley 600, mild cam and extractors. I'm not ceratin on most of the work as it was done by the previous 2 owners. It's also got 131.9kw at the wheels, any idea on power increase at all with different heads? I'm only asking that last question cause i'm still on my p's and the whole power to weight ratio thing. Don't know why i'm even asking that last part actually cause i think i'm already over the power limit but oh well. But yeah any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: new heads to get?

I'd second the AFR165's. High reving or not they'll still work on a mild engine. I've read alot of cylinder head write ups and the AFR's (165,185,205) come up trumps everytime. On a mild CHP 306 test engine with standard heads it made 306hp then fitted with a set of 165's out of the box it made 396hp (From Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords sep03 to jan04).
Cheers Brett.
