Nosey Lifter

I Have A 85 5.0 Motor In A 68 Mustang ,i Have Rebuilt The Motor And Installed A New Cam And Lifters Every Once And A Wile When I Start It Up The #1 Cly Lifter Starts To Tap It And Takes A Long Time To Pump Up , Changed The Lifter Still Have The Same Problem Tried To Change The Oil From 10w30 To 10w40 Still No Change

How do you know that is the one? How are you setting lifter preload?

if i remove the valve cover ad hold down the rocker arm the noise goes a way as for the peload the rocker arm has no adjustment

Did you replace the rockers or re-use the old ones? Lowering the rocker doesn't sound like an option, and two lifters wouldn't be collapsed. I would think the rocker is too worn.

why not change the rocker arm maybe its a bent stud? my 69 windsors had noisy new lifters too new cam and bled em then reset gaps still noisy?drivn me nuts im gonna swap to a solid cam set up.

could be dirt blocking the oil ducts rocker arm, push rod
