o ring lock wire gasket probs

is it possible to do anything to a lockwire type alloy head to use regular gaskets? e.g fit some kind of insert maybe?
dont ask me to explain why iv a good reason for it

Not that I know of, unless you find a material that has exactly the same rate of thermal expansion then it will definately cause sealing issues.

You could strip the heads, get the reciever grooves welded up, then straighten and face them before reassembling... But geez they'd want to be a set of awesome heads really cheap to do that.

Why not just run the O ring type head gaskets? Be cheaper.

hi dj the good rerason was the heads were new and a lot cheaper but not much difference if you end up buying 2 sets of expensive o ring gaskets!
i have heard people using a metal insert that sits in the groove wich sounds ok but nobody seems to have any info on it
prob just pay the extra and save in the long run without grooved heads
