I have a 302 block:

C8AM 6015-B

I am getting some differing opinions about it. Some are saying it's a "mexican block" and others are saying its a motorsport (SVO) version. I don't really know if there is any significance, except that when I measured the deck height it is taller than what it should be i.e it is 8.246", not 8.206".

The date suffix is obscure, but looks like 6-HO

do you see the words "Hecho en Mexico" cast anywhere on the block, the lifter valley perhaps?

According to the Casting Number it's a 1968 Ford Special Vehicle Operations Block.

Did SVO exist back in 1968?
IF there is two large boses protruding from casting, one on each side at the front then its a mexican

It should be a mexican block. My mexican has the same numbers on it.

Yes after I had the thing hot tubbed there was "Hecho en Mexico" in 12 point.
