opinions on F303

looking at getting an F303 for a turbo 351W.

just curious what dizzy gear they use.

and people experience with std roller lifters, they are soooo much cheaper than comp hyd roller lifters.

Re: opinions on F303

For a turbo 351W, I'd really recommend a custom grind. The good grinders can take the specs of YOUR motor, YOUR transmission, YOUR car, etc, and design something that will work best for YOUR application. You're looking at around $300 for one, but if you're installing a turbocharger on a 351W, I'm sure you'd rather spend it than skip out.

Re: opinions on F303

The specs on the F303 are very good for turbo, nice low TQ peak and wide LSA, they are probably one of the best cams to use actually, there are even little 302's making over 1100rwhp with the F303 and a turbo, If I was getting a custom one I'd ask for something very similar to the F303 but with more lift and up it to 230@50 with a 114LSA, 110 ICL.

I'm more concerned with the std replacement roller lifters and the wear rates of the dizzy gear.

Re: opinions on F303

I know a guy running roughly 750hp on his turbo 302 and he's running standard equipment roller lifters.
I'm not sure about the distributor gear, though. Didn't know they wear out...

Yeah I know roller cams are billet, some say you use bronze gear but they wear fast? I've been told you can also use a steel gear tho.

Re: opinions on F303

Steel dissy gear as std and std dog bones and roller lifters take 6700 rpm [ref limiter]no worries..Just need CORRECT valve springs etc...I'm pushing 540 rwhp..Not that power has anything to do with it..Its more an RPM thing..
