Yeeehaaaaa! I'm getting pacemakers fitted to the Windsor as I type! I’ve just been down to the shop and they’ve got both banks fitted and the cat and oxygen sensor fitted to one side. Almost done! I can’t wait to hear the sound and plant the foot! I got it at a pretty good price too, $650 supplied and fitted. My question is, would it be beneficial to disconnect the battery and get the computer to re-learn the new manifold? Also, if I do go with a re-learn, I’ve heard that you have to drive it’s balls off during the relearn period. Obviously the theory is that the computer adapts to a performance oriented driving style. Is this the case?
great work mate! damn, 630 bucks! and i thought 400 for a set for my car was a bit rich! six in a row is the only way to go heheheh.
it probably might make it learn a bit quicker if you disconnect the computer - they have a memory which remembers the air/fuel needs of the engine over the last 100 ignition cycles, at 101 the 1st one gets written over etc, so it will still learn, just maybe take a bit longer.
and you should be thrashing it all the time anyway :D not just on special occasions :D but yeah, IMHO thrashing helps hehe.
cant wait for willowbank!!! its gunna be brilliant!

I can get new Genuine Holden/Ford/Audi/Land Rover/Honda parts cheap, PM me!
Thanks rollin, I'm so pleased with it! I can't stop smiling, the way motoring should be!!! I originally was quoted $700 and $880 by another place, so getting it for $650 was pretty good. I've got the old headers in the back of the car... hehehe, I laughed at them. Oh man I opened her up after work once I'd picked her up... the cabin had that slight "new exhaust smell" which I love and as I wound her past 3000 I creamed my pants. Such a beautiful sound! The woob-woob-woob sound is more pronounced at idle too and some of the drone has been reduced. Yeah I can't wait till willowbank! I'm keen to see what my car now does at the wheel. Jeeez I"ve got the itch now, can someone recommend me a cam
Hahaha mate, I know what you're doing, trying to minimise guilt by getting someone else spend money on their baby too Sorry, I don't think up up for the stroker at this stage!
Yeah, I sort of agonised over whether or not to do this and eventually just took the plunge. Very glad that I did! Also my fuel consumption has jumped up to 22L/100ks since I picked her up after work yesterday Does the manifold need re-tightening or checking? Are there any maintenence issues I should be aware of whilst it's new?
Supposedly your not to give it a hard time until the new pipes have burned in,
ooops
I'm quite happy with the sound. It's still quiet at idle but opens up with some throttle. At last I'm getting somewhere with my exhaust setup, it's been one painful step after the next!!
good job man. I remember paying $750 for my extractors about a year ago.
I recommend you go back after a week to get things re-tightened. I was told to do this the extractors have enough burn time like 94ED said. I think it will minimise the chance of exhaust leakages.
Feels good doesnt it? Get some GT40P's, trickflow intake and 73mm maf and then you'll hear how sweet she is!
