Performance parts

2 Hi there guys I've just brought a XR8 220 kw 5 speed and it's all standard at the moment. I was wondering what would you do to get more horsepower. Like what size exhaust, which headers ,what filter pod or panel and so on.

Re: Performance parts

Filter wise, get a K&N or BMC panel filter - but don't expect much ( well anything really ).
Exhaust wise, you've got a Herrods distributor over there don't you ? (I seem to remember something like that). If so - they should be able to get a nice Herrods system for you (expensive, but probably the most reliable (performing) exhaust...

Re: Performance parts

Depends on whether you want to go single or duel exhaust. Benefits and negatives have been listed here many times before, I have a K & N filter with Genie Extractors and single 3" with a straight through muffler and then a resonator with twin outlets. Sounds very nice both idling and screaming (well at 4000rpm) I also changed the T/B but you already have the 70mm one, if you do the exhaust you should be pretty well moving, you then can do cams chips and porting!!!! All fairly expensive with no visual or audiable difference (sorry you may hear a difference with the cam). Then stroke it or charge it or maybe turbo it would be something very different.
FOR SALE...... $22,990

AUII XR8 (200kw), Silhouette, Body Kit, Hawk Wing, 5 Speed man, Premium Brakes, Premium Sound, Genie Extractors, 3" exhaust with twin 3" tips, K & N filter with air scoop, Polished Inlet manifold, MAF & 70mm T/B, T series interior handles & Gear stick ring, Chequer plate, Momo Pedals.
