Hi guys and Gals,
Could someone please explain to me what the perge cansiter solenoid does and where it's situated and if it's easily replaced.
I've just had my AUXR8 in for its recall and they told me that i require one of these.

Its in the bumper in front of the passenger front wheel,you have to take the plastic under tray off that connects to the bumper.I had my soleniod touching the guard making a noise.

All AU V8s do it at some stage. It's an annoying noise, but generally harmless.

Did they say why you needed a new one?

The main reason he told me to replace it was fuel consumption. He mentioned that i'd be losing top end performace and using alot more fuel.
The techo who did the recall work told me that it was a common thing and that there would be no harm done if i didn't replace it. That ticking noise is so annoying...
Not to sure about the fuel thing though???
