Porting explorer inlet manifold

I am about to put on the explorer inlet manifold, I was just curious as to whether it was worth porting or extrude/honing the manifold before it is put on? The engine is only stock now besides the 70mm MAF, high flow cats, K&N & 2 1/2" exhaust. Future wish mod will be the CAPA supercharger down the track. Thoughts???

Re: Porting explorer inlet manifold

might as well port it now before putting it together, it wouldnt hurt to..

would save you pulling it to bits to port later on

Re: Porting explorer inlet manifold

I would generally go for the one that will give the best performance......
but it depends on price if one is double the price of the other I would go for the cheaper option.

Re: Porting explorer inlet manifold

You probably won't see any real difference unles you do a lot of other mods. The intake generally isn't a restriction until you are at around 200rwkw. Also with a supercharger, the inlet doesn't really need to flow as much as a NA engine. I wouldn't really bother extrude honing it, especially if you may supercharge it later, but just porting the lower which is the main restriction is fairly easy and cheap.
