I saw this intake being sold on the VPW website. What are your opinions about this manifold? Is it worth the $700+ price tag they want for it?

hmmm that's interesting. So that's just the upper intake manifold and I guess it would still have bonnet clearance. Does it come with a bigger TB I wonder? I guess you'd still need head work or a head upgrade (GT40P etc) to get much benefit. How restrictive are the standard runners?

It's a very poor knock off of the Edelbrock RPM. Firstly because it is based on the RPM intake, it's power range is a little too high for most setups out there, you will loose quite a bit of low down torque and idle quality. Secondly the quality of the casting is suppose to be absolutely crap. I have not seen it for myself but the inside needs a lot of work just to get rid of all the casting leftovers and flaws. Also reports that many had no thread tapped into the lower intake. They may have sorted out their quality issues since their release about 12 months ago, but I wouldn't really trust them. Pay the extra $400 and get the edelbrock performer.

Theres ya answer I guess. I tend to agree with ya there grant about getting what ya pay for. Better to spend that bit extra and get a better quality product. Pity about it though.

If you were to compare between the Edelbrock and Trickflow intakes, which one would you choose?

Edlebrock probably for the reasons that I like the looks better, and it has been around for a long time and has always produced great results. Both flow more than enough air for most setups, but the trickflow does flow a little more. I also like the fact that edelbrock state there is no low down torque loss with their performer intake.

I have an Edelbrock Performer & have just picked up a brand new Trickflow manifold 2nd hand not used for $550
Will be fitting it within the next few days so ill tell you how it goes
