Out of curiosity, is there any way of telling a 351w from a 302w without pulling it apart?

Im sure some of this info has been posted before but here it is again..
The 351windsors deck height is more than 25mm taller than a 302w

You can really notice it when looking at the two engines .
Look at the intake manifold to block gasket surface just behind the distributor if its a 302 its about 4mm higher than the machined surface the distributor holding bracket bolts to, on a 351w its alot higher (around 20mm) .

If it has these on the block its a 351w from 1978 or earlier

also a quick and easy thing to see is that a 351 windsor intake is much wider than a 302,very easy to spot...
