Roller Rocker Part Numbers

Does anyone know the part numbers for both the Yella Terra and Ford Motorsport 1.7 roller rockers (suit AU)?

At this point I'm leaning towards the Ford Motorsport given the price however any opinions on the above would also be appreciated.

Thanks

How much are the Ford ones? Cheapest I have seen the YTs are $437 at vpw.

Re: Roller Rocker Part Numbers

Summit have FMS ones for US$189 which I calculated to be under $320 plus postage (I hope I have the conversions, taxes etc right). I expect to order items with my brother who is also sourcing parts from Summit so the postage works out to be very cheap in the end.

Ford Motorsport ones are part number M-6564-A50, Yella Terra are ST-2027. IMO, the Yella Terra ones are much better quality.

The FMS ones for $320, is a fair bit cheaper than the YTs for $437.
Does this price sound right, given that they will be ordered from the US (@ $189US)with other parts?

Thanks EDXR8. Those of you who have the FMS rockers... what do you think of them?

While I'm at it I've been thinking about getting some new rocker covers. I have these in mind http://store.summitracing.com/partde...57#largerimage. I believe these are the right ones however could someone confirm? US$153 works out to be about AU$250/260 which is much less than I had anticipated.

You had better change banks because the conversions you are quoting works out about 61 cents but the exchange rate is more like 75 cents (down from 80 cents not long ago)

Where you will get stung is all the import taxes/duties. Those who have done it will tell you you won't save much going thru all the hassle when you compare with vpw prices

Re: Roller Rocker Part Numbers

So, if the part was $153 at an exchange rate of $0.75 (which gives $204), then multiply by the import duty (15% gives $234.60), and then GST (10% gives $258.06) where did AUGhiaV8 go wrong?

Re: Roller Rocker Part Numbers

Yella terra are a little more expensive but quality wise are up there with the best. In fact they do a lot of work for Crane. Also easier to get spares and aftersales with local product.

Be careful when ordering stuff from summit, I was holidaying in the USA a while back and ordered a few things to be sent to my hotel room. Their "free shipping" promise was kept but also got a $9 "handling charge".

Regarding exchange rates and stuff, I assume you will be using a credit card for payment. Those scumbags are 3 to 5 cents above market rates on overseas purchases so factor that in on the calculations. Your $153 part comes out a lot dearer. Part $153 + $20 (guess) shipping = US$173

Exchange rate today 0.75 cents
Credit card rate 0.72 cents on a good day
Works out to $240 Oz
Import duty 15% $36 =$276
GST 10 % $27.60 = $303 Australian

Around $300 depending on shipping and exchange rates. Oh, forgot to add insurance charges as well. Give VPW a call, at least if something goes wrong they can sort it out.

Re: Roller Rocker Part Numbers

I wold probably stick with YT, but have you given SVO a call, Southside Ford (Brisbane) are an agent for them and would obviously have FMS stuff.
