Hi there, was thinking about swapping the 250 in my XA falcon to a 302, how hard is it? The gbox is a 3 speed column auto, so this means i dont really have to change the diff aye.
So can i use the existing gearbox and thje likes? Will i need new mounts?

depends on g/box type. if it's a borg warner 35 you are better off getting a C4 that fits the windsor v8
if its already a c4 in there it won't have the same bolt pattern as the v8
the engine mounts are different
tailshaft might be different
diff would be ok if you look after it

considering XA only came in Cleveland.. 351C all the way. heaps of spares around. Buy an old 80 zj fairlane for a few hundred bucks or the likes and swap the lot over.
As far as conversion goes the 6cyl radiator is the same, change engine mounts, brackets, motor and box. Most 351C's will be FMX. The C4 is a better box however
