Changed to Redline synth oil. immediate increase in no load idle, revs like has lighter rotating components and feels noticeably more powerfull especially above 4500. Hot oil press at idle is 10lb better, oil temp is over 30 deg f lower after thrashing, is good, worth the $$$$ over rock juice, what r u guys running in the pan?
it's a hard one, i personally cant justify the price of redline oils over the other brands. it is definetly a better grade oil, but at ~$150 per oil change, and i do mine every 5k, i simply couldn't justify it.
I am running Sheel Heliax ATM fully synthetic, and about to install 1>7 roller rocker, and the Yella Terra page says to run a mineral oil - is Red line synthetic or mineral ???

I also run Shell Helix Ultra Synthetic and did while I had YT 1.72 rockers too. Really don't understand why Yella Terra specify mineral oil, I know plenty other people who also run synthetic with the YT rockers and have no problems.

i beleive its because synthetic oils are thinner, thus creating more valve train noise, it shouldn't hurt the motor but most ppl find that the motor is noisier with synthetic oils, but the benefits outway the pro's.

Yeah I used to change oil every 1000 to 2000 miles but will keep this stuff in for 5000 to 10000 miles, is recommended up to 40000 klm, if I kept to the recommendations it's actually cheaper to run than mineral but won't be keeping it in for that long (is usually pulled down every 10000 anyway for check/freshen)
